The Chicago Fire acquired winger Jonathan Bamba on Tuesday and signed him to a contract that runs through the 2027 season. Financial terms were not disclosed by the Fire, who will also have a club option for 2028.

Jonathan Bamba, a member of Ivory Coast’s team that won last year’s Africa Cup of Nations, will be a designated player for the Chicago Fire.

Celta youngster Luca de la Torre has also moved to MLS on-loan to San Diego FC. And last week, Argentine striker Tadeo Allende joined on loan Inter Miami. All three transfers had the approval of Celta coach Claudio Giráldez.
