Escambia County officials have spent the past week preparing to help residents stay safe, including measures to sand area roads and help those without a home find shelter. Motorists will need to be cautious of the types of hazardous road conditions brought about by the mix of freezing rain, rain and snow as well.

All roads and bridges in Escambia County (both Florida and Alabama) should be considered impassable until further notice due to hazardous driving condition.

Escambia County is encouraging its residents to "stay home and stay off the roadways" Tuesday and Wednesday due to the expected winter

“Effective immediately, all Escambia County roads and bridges should be considered impassable until further notice. Citizens are advised that when roads and bridges become impassable, all travel should be suspended or delayed. Only emergency vehicles should travel on county roads and bridges until further notice.”
