Griner is signing a free-agent contract with the Atlanta Dream when free agency opens Sunday, ESPN's Shams Charania and Alexa Phillipou first reported. The 34-year-old, who was the No. 1 overall pick by the Mercury in 2013, spent her entire 11-season career in Phoenix before testing free agency this year.

After Griner's big free agency decision, many WNBA fans seem to think Taurasi's retirement has become a sure thing. They took to social media to leave their thoughts. "Lol, Taurasi is retiring," one fan said. "Have to wonder if BG officially leaving Phoenix is the last straw leading to Diana Taurasi retiring," added another.

Griner is the latest big name to move during the WNBA’s offseason, as she’ll leave the Mercury and head to Atlanta.

Amid news of her move, Griner took to Instagram to make her first post about her free agency decision. She shared a clip of herself riding a boat alongside her new teammates, Jordin Canada, Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray.
