USD mounted a late comeback to knock off North Dakota State 85-84 in the first game of the evening session, and the team most of those fans paid to see, South Dakota State, got bounced 85-69 by 6th-seeded North Dakota behind one of the greatest individual performances and worst team performances in tournament history.

The quarterfinal on Friday at the Summit League Men’s Basketball Tournament is a “Battle of the Dakotas,” with what may promise to be the best quarterfinal of the tournament: the fifth seed South Dakota Coyotes and the fourth seed North Dakota State Bison.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - South Dakota basketball trailed by 11 with five minutes to go and would storm back for an 85-84 win after outscoring North Dakota State 21-9 to earn a spot in the Summit League Tournament Semifinal round.

The Coyotes came back after being down by as much as 11 in the second half to advance to the Summit League tournament semifinals.
