She was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. On April 23rd, 1962, she married Al Walin. They were married for 59 years.

She was also a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, where she did volunteer work for the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Omicron Phi Omega Chapter, doled out its 2025 round of scholarships, going to students at Kokomo, Taylor and Marion high schools.
