At xAI, Elon Musk has marshaled a workforce that has ballooned by more than 1,000 employees in less than two years as he goes head-to-head with rivals OpenAI and Google. Business Insider reviewed the company's internal organizational chart to identify and understand the people near the top of the AI venture as of early this year.

The move comes two months after President Trump announced Stargate, a private sector AI infrastructure initiative backed by SoftBank Group, OpenAI and Oracle.
