WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The State of Kansas held its annual tornado drill at 10 a.m. Wednesday. It is part of Severe Weather Awareness Week – a week for people to review their storm safety plans.

A severe weather threat brings a low tornado risk to parts of Oklahoma as storms are expected Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Kansas will also hold a state-wide tornado drill at the same time. Johnson County Emergency Management officials say a live tornado warning will not be broadcast on the NOAA Weather Radio.
