LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's parliament will shut a bar popular with lawmakers from Monday as it reviews its security arrangements following an alleged drink spiking incident that police are investigating. Strangers' Bar, located in the Palace of Westminster, is one of several bars in the parliamentary estate.

A bar inside the Houses of Parliament which found itself at the centre of drink spiking allegations last week has announced it's set to close its doors from Monday.

A woman has allegedly been 'spiked' in Strangers Bar in the Houses of Parliament. Police are now investigating the incident which reportedly happened on last Tuesday, the first week back after the Christmas recess.

Police are investigating a report that a woman had her drink spiked in one of the bars in the Houses of Parliament. The parliamentary researcher reported her drink had been tampered with to bar staff and security in the early evening of Tuesday 7 January, the second day of Parliament after the festive break.

The bar at Strangers’ Dining Room in the U.K. parliamentary estate will close temporarily while officials review safety and security measures following reports of a drink being spiked, The Guardian reported.
