Lucy Letby's case is to be reviewed by the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC), which investigates potential miscarriages of justice, after Letby’s lawyers made an application to the body on Monday.

During a press conference in London, Dr. Shoo Lee, a retired Canadian neonatologist who chaired an international panel of 14 medical experts, said the group found “significant new evidence” that Letby did not harm any babies in her care, the BBC reports.

A panel of experts claimed Lucy Letby did not commit murder after its chairman presented “significant new medical evidence” on her court case. Evidence used to convict the killer nurse was newly challenged on Tuesday as Canadian professor Dr Shoo Lee – whose research formed part of the prosecution’s case – convened a panel of experts in London.
