Robert proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He enlisted as a Naval Reservist and was honorably discharged after serving from 1958 to 1960 aboard the USS Sierra AD18, based out of Norfolk, VA.
He served on The USS Sierra AD 18 and on The USS Shenandoah AD 26. He mustered out in 1958 while obtaining the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. He was discharged in 1962.
