Chinese scientists have identified a new species of vampire squid (Vampyroteuthis infernalis), only the second known vampire squid species in the world. This was reported by The Xinhua News Agency.
The first vampire squid variant has these light-emitting organs placed a third of the way. Also, the new species has a pointed tail, while V. infernalis doesn’t get one.
