Arctic air remains over the ArkLaTex and is waiting for a disturbance that will produce a mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow. The precipitation will begin on Thursday and will continue into Friday.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a winter storm warning through noon Friday for most of northern East Texas as heavy mixed winter precipitation is possible.
