Crime has impacted the Ocean Mall, popular with tourists, during past holiday weekends, but police hope to keep this July Fourth crime free.

There's a new outreach center for the Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs: the County Connection at the Ocean County Mall in Toms River.

"Ocean County Mall is excited to have five new retailers join our lineup at the center,” said Madison Moores, Ocean County Mall's director of marketing and business development, in a statement.

Bahama Breeze restaurant at Ocean County Mall closed permanently on May 15. This is the second chain restaurant closure at the mall this year, following On the Border in February.
