The College Football Playoff is expanding to 12 teams for the first time this season, and the CFP committee revealed its second rankings of the 2024 season on Tuesday night. Alabama came in at No. 11 in the initial rankings and moved up to No. 10 in the second week of the poll.

Alabama has two of the best wins in the country this season — taking down Georgia in October and then beating LSU by nearly 30 in Baton Rouge on Saturday night. But at the same time, two losses are on the resume to Vanderbilt and Tennessee.

Georgia flunked a critical SEC road test on Saturday, losing 28-10 at Ole Miss and falling to 7-2 (5-2 SEC) ahead of another high-stakes battle with Tennessee in Week 12. Despite suffering a second loss in miserable fashion against the Rebels,
