The Edmonton Oilers lost 5-3 to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday afternoon (Dec. 29). They simply didn’t have it in this one and were thoroughly outplayed, while being outshot 32-23 in the game.

The Philadelphia Flyers left Crypto.com Arena empty-handed on Tuesday night, falling 5-4 to the Los Angeles Kings in a hard-fought battle.

In their return from the Christmas break, the Edmonton Oilers suffered a rare overtime loss on Saturday (Dec. 28), falling to the host Los Angeles Kings by a score of 4-3 at Crypto.com Arena.

Noah Cates extended his goal-scoring streak to five games, Morgan Frost scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-1.

There’s something about games out of NHL-mandated breaks that gets the Flyers going. Last season, they beat the Vancouver Canucks, who were atop the NHL standings at the time, out of the holiday break and the eventual Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers after the combined bye week and All-Star Weekend.
