A rock slide has damaged a popular trail in Boulder Canyon. The City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Department has temporarily closed Boulder Falls because of that damage. Boulder officials said the safety closure is a proactive measure due to recent weather conditions that likely triggered soil movement.

DENVER ( KDVR) — A popular Boulder trail that leads to a mighty waterfall is closed following a recent rockslide. On Tuesday, the city of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Department said it temporarily closed access to Boulder Falls in the Boulder Canyon after a rockslide damaged the trail.

The boulder will require downsizing to remove it from the highway. CDOT said it is unknown when the highway will reopen.
