A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an incident on the M66. Police and paramedics were called to concerns for her welfare at around 2pm on Friday afternoon (May 9).

All traffic has been held on a motorway in both directions due to a police incident. The incident is on the M66 between J1 for the A56 and further north, where the M66 becomes the A56. More to follow.
