A boating accident at Cedar Creek Lake claimed the lives of two young girls, leaving the local community devastated.

The Oak Creek Fire Department said two kids were floating on a paddleboard about a quarter mile offshore from Bender Park.

Firefighters from Oak Creek, South Milwaukee and Cudahy were involved in a water rescue in Bender Park on Monday, June 23.
