Clouds to start the day, with increasing rain starting on the coast and up north. And by the late afternoon, everyone will see showers, and we will start to see some snow in the mountains.

In the meantime, the huge ridge of upper-level high pressure off the coast will maintain more cool sunshine for the first half of the week. That weather pattern has resulted in no significant rainfall since Jan. 10.

All the sunshine we've been having this month is coming at a price. We are way behind when it comes to the typical amount of rain Seattle would get in January.
