Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday on which many people, including students, are off. It's also a day when many may reflect on the civil rights leader and his famous "I Have a Dream" speech.

The federal holiday is observed on the third Monday of January and celebrates the work of Martin Luther King Jr. and his work during the Civil Rights Movement.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is this Monday, Jan. 20 and people all across East Texas are getting together to celebrate the holiday. Events being held in honor of the great American civil rights leader will start on Friday and are being held throughout this weekend heading into Monday.
