An updated winter weather advisory was issued by the NWS Raleigh NC on Thursday at 1:06 p.m. in effect until 4 p.m. The advisory is for Halifax, Nash, Edgecombe, Johnston, Wilson and Wayne counties.

Re-freezing could also result in black ice and slick travel conditions. Significant ice accumulations were forecast in eastern North Carolina, the National Weather Service said.
