The Texas Rangers created their own regional sports network called the Rangers Sports Network and on Wednesday announced their television broadcasters ahead of the season.

The Texas Rangers, who have more than 16 million households in their broadcast territory, have created a new company to oversee production and distribution of their game broadcasts, unveiling on Monday the Rangers Sports Media & Entertainment Company.

The Rangers had just killed a penalty to Ryan Lindgren and Vincent Trocheck, at the end of his shift, found himself on a partial breakaway in the final minute, with Carolina defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere chasing him. Trocheck opted not to shoot, but instead tried to drop a pass to a trailing K’Andre Miller. But the pass didn’t get through.

Less than one minute into the contest, Andrei Svechnikov scored, putting the Rangers in an early hole. After a sluggish start, the Rangers were quickly able to find their legs and started to settle back in.

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New York Rangers by a score of 4-0. Fueled by a 22-save shutout from Freddie Andersen and a three-point night from Andrei Svechnikov, the Hurricanes withstood a huge second-period push from the Rangers and got the win.
