Former president Donald Trump headlined an online event Monday unveiling a new cryptocurrency business with ties to his family, capitalizing on his third run for the White House to promote his business interests.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Monday launched his family's cryptocurrency venture, World Liberty Financial, with an interview on the X social media platform in which he also gave his first public comments on the apparent assassination attempt against him a day earlier.

In a livestream, Donald Trump formally introduced World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture led by two digital currency entrepreneurs with little experience running high-profile businesses.
