Situated next to the Yaquina Bay Bridge, South Beach State Park begins in south Newport and stretches several miles down the Oregon coast. This historic park offers access to miles of broad, sandy ocean beach and trails for walking and bicycling.

South Beach Tsunami evacuation: Follow the blue tsunami signs through the campground. The evacuation route proceeds between sites I10 and I12 out of the campground to Safe Haven Hill. Evacuate to Safe Haven Hill If you feel an earthquake: stop, drop and hold. Follow posted evacuation routes on foot to Safe Haven Hill.

The beach and marsh are an integral part of the Beaver Creek Watershed that connect old-growth forests, coastal areas and marsh habitats. One mile east of Ona Beach and Highway 101, a viewing deck overlooks the marsh and creek, with interpretive panels describing the area’s ecology and wildlife.

Brian Booth State Park is made up of two distinct areas: Ona Beach Day-use and beach access, and Beaver Creek State Natural Area. A boat launch is located on North Beaver Creek Road, just across Highway 101 from Ona Beach.
