Jan 16, 2022 · Over the last few years, I have developed some pain while handwriting or taking notes and it is exclusively in the region underneath the thumb (palmar region). I have researched that this area is known as the thenar eminence when inflamed (or in pain). Any suggestions on how to relieve this hand pain will be greatly appreciated.

Sep 30, 2022 · According to the ultrasound, the muscle seems unaffected. Which explains why I have no decrease in mobility or movement. What was noticed is that the skin in my hand over the thenar area is double in thickness compared to my left. I was then referred to a hand specialist, who has ordered me an MRI.

Jun 24, 2020 · I have been twitching in my thenar eminence for two weeks. I thought about going to see the neurologist but if he's going to tell me to wait three months, then forget it! I can do that on my own. I also have histamine intolerance and my allergist said that causes muscle twitching. I showed her, but she's not a neurologist.
