Jan 28, 2025 · We’re the regulator for pharmacies, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in Great Britain. Our role is to protect everyone who uses pharmacy services. All pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy premises who are currently licensed to practise in Great Britain must renew their registration with us annually.

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is the body responsible for the independent regulation of the pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy premises within England, Scotland and Wales.

We are the regulator for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacies in Great Britain. Our main job is to protect, promote and maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of members of the public by upholding standards and public trust in pharmacy.

Each year, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians must record what they have done to keep their knowledge and skills up to date and reflect on how they have put this into practice. They must make a set of declarations and pay a fee to renew their registration.
