Curious if anyone has the scoop on what is being manufactured at the Pratt and Whitney factory east of the Arboretum. Looks like a huge facility from the satellite imagery. Has me curious what they are making and if there is any public information on how many they are employing.

Nov 20, 2023 · The $100 million in incentives that were given to Pratt and Whitney is supposed to trickle down and lead to even more than that in revenue. This scheme rarely works. The problem is that there will be nothing taxpayers can do if in a decade and a half this particular incentive program turns out the way they usually do.

Oct 28, 2020 · I have previously worked in aerospace for a former Pratt plant. I honestly don't think we need to worry about pollution from a brand new aerospace facility. EHS standards are really good for new equipment these days. Hazardous chemicals were on their way out decades ago, and those that remain are very carefully controlled.

Pratt is a business, with the goal of making as much money as possible and nothing else. Them paying you more, means the company makes less. Cost to bring in a new employee is the competitive market rate. New employees typically have 3-4 interviews going on at once. Pratt (and every company in general) needs to compete to win their business.
