We know from In A Mirror Darkly that it was already established by the time of Archer, a century earlier. Georgiou was born into and moulded by a terrible society, one that had been oppressing aliens literally since the second it encountered them.

Leaving aside the fact that Linda Park is Korean and Michelle Yeoh is Malaysian (as are both versions of Georgiou), there is no reason to think that the Terran Empire uses inheritance ...

And of course, like I knew it would happen, I loved it and I watched the first three seasons pretty quickly. I just finished the episode where the mirror Philippa Georgiou left the show through the time portal thingy.

It’s really a shame, on other shows everyone got to shine at some point, I think DS9 did this better than most I mean we even get characters like Leeta who we know more about and got more to do than some of Discovery’s bridge crew.

Dec 12, 2021 · Emperor Georgiou's titles include "Iaponius" - Latin for Japanese. The writer has said that was intended as a nod to Hoshi, and implies that the Terrans do still remember her as a powerful Emperor, equal to Augustus. Given that Hoshi was Japanese, while Georgiou is Malaysian-Chinese, presumably she's not a direct descendant.
